ANDY Robinson has described the feeling of winning his first ever professional title as ‘incredible’.

The 29-year-old secured the British Masters Bronze super middleweight belt with a fifth round stoppage of Hull’s Luke Allon at the Tower Ballroom in Birmingham on Saturday.

It saw the Redditch pugilist record his tenth straight win since moving into the professional ranks.

Robinson, nicknamed D’Animal, had worn down Allon, who was a late replacement for Jason Ball, before putting him down twice in the fifth round.

“I am still speechless,” said the boxer.

“It’s an incredible feeling to win the belt and it hasn’t sunk in yet.

“The atmosphere was amazing and I can’t thank the fans enough for their backing.”

The fight looked in jeopardy last week after original opponent Ball had wanted the weigh in moved from Friday to the morning of the fight because of issues regarding work and trying to move up to super middleweight.

Robinson said: “I’ve got to praise my promoter PJ Rowson for finding someone who was able to come in and give me a fight.

“I’m going to take some time off before working out what’s the next step.”
