REDDITCH Hockey Club’s Men’s team got the better of Tamworth in a seven-goal thriller.

Steve Cooke score twice for the home side while Andy Brooks and skipper Daniel Waites got the others.

The win keeps them in third place in West Midlands Diviusion One.

It was a bad day for Redditch Ladies though as they lost 5-0 at Tenbury.

There was a heavy defeat for the men’s seconds as they were beaten 6-2 at Stafford.

Performances over recent weeks have improved and they entered the match with strong hopes of a favourable result.

They worked tirelessly throughout the match and were very much contenders with David Baker converting a penalty corner and Steve Jones scoring from open play.

Midway through the second half, Stafford found another gear and punished the Redditch team for every error or mistake they made.

The men’s thirds travelled to Old Wulfs and stretched their winning run to three matches with a hard fought 2-1 victory.

Paul Baker and Wayne Beard were on target.

Redditch moved up into fourth place and host third placed Solihull Blossomfield this coming weekend.
