Big drive to entice young golfers with conference

First published in Sport

GOLF clubs across Worcestershire are to be given a helping hand to support the drive to encourage more young people into the sport.

The Worcestershire and Herefordshire County Golf Partnership has teamed up with the Golf Foundation to host a junior conference next month.

The event – which is open to all clubs in the county – will provide valuable information and advice on how to create a welcoming environment for young people to enjoy their golf.

The conference takes place at Kings Norton Golf Club on Wednesday, February 12 (5.30pm) and it is hoped that both golf professionals and the volunteer junior organisers will attend.

Development officer Alan Beard said: “This is an ideal opportunity for those involved in junior golf to further develop their club’s own section.”
