BOYS from Redditch and Alcester helped Worcester Gymnastics Club to nine medals at the West Midlands Regional Championships in Birmingham.
Redditch’s Evan Miles and Alcester-based team-mates Aran Woolger, Ethan Mathias and Nathaniel Downham were part of the 18-strong squad competing in the six-piece men’s apparatus. The team was packed with local lads aiming to represent the county in style.
All the gymnasts started the event strongly with some very good routines which reflected their hard work leading up to this competition.
By the end of the day the club had clinched three gold, two silver and four bronze across the five different age groups, with Miles rewarded with a silver for his efforts.
Meanwhile, Bromsgrove’s Lewis Beaver also won a silver medal on his first entry into this competition, while Theo Thomas and Toby Uren also did well.
