THE three teams from Walkwood Middle School went the distance to win their sections at the district cross country championships.

The school took 112 students to Redditch Rugby Club to compete and all teams secured top-three finishes during what were very challenging weather conditions.

But the year five line-up of George Skelton, Jamie Goldingay, Joshua Robins and Josh Greaves and the year six side containing Josh Clews, Morgan Print, Louis Ravenhill and Lewis Clissett finished first.

And in the year eight section, Ellen Bowen, Alice Battey, Ellie Moss and Rosie Potter also came first.

Teacher Katie Reeves said: “The conditions were wet but all pupils completed the race with a smile on their face and giving 110 per cent effort.”
