Caines spares Reds blushes

Atherstone Town 3, Redditch United 3
REDDITCH United needed a last gasp equaliser to save their FA Cup blushes at the hands of Atherstone on Saturday.
The Adders, who play their football three levels below the Reds, looked to have booked their place in the second qualifying round when Lee Smith struck his second of the game to give his side a 3-2 lead eight minutes from time.
But the visitors scrambled a late equaliser when a long throw was not dealt with by the home defence and Joel Caines was on hand to stab the ball over the line.
United had powered into 2-0 lead thanks to a brace for Jamie Molyneux.
Atherstone hit back when Andrew Culver made it 2-1 and Smith netted the equaliser from the spot after David Boal had been upended by defender Mark Byrne.
He then put the home side ahead with a 30-yard strike but Caines forced home the equaliser in the last minute.
