Derrick’s men fall to big defeat

REDDITCH found in-form Bromyard too hot to handle as they slipped to a five wicket defeat in the Worcestershire League Division One.
Captain Perry Derrick won the toss and opted to bat first but the visitors were bowled out for 107 in 32 overs.
Only Tom Field (41 not out) made an impact with the bat but Bromyard bowler Greg Leighton (5-29) was in fine form.
Greg Chinn (2-29) took two early wickets, while Henry Moorcroft (2-22) also claimed two victims but Edd Oliver (38no) guided Bromyard to 108-5 in reply.
Redditch entertain Droitwich on Saturday (12.30pm start).
- Feckenham frustrated promotion-chasing Colwall with a stubborn display as they recorded a losing draw in Division Two.
Second-placed Colwall had looked on course for a win when they made 303-6, inspired by opener Tom Coleman’s 133.
But the Millers responded strongly as Jamie Griffiths (53) and Jamie Reddish (78no) ensured they reached 205-4 in reply.
Feckenham end the season at Rushwick on Saturday (12.30pm start).
- In Division Three, Alvechurch and Hopwood managed a losing draw against Ross-on-Wye.
The Herefordshire side had made 356-9 thanks to 185 by Sebastian Warwick.
Alvechurch hit 221-5 in reply in their 50 overs, with Liam Hall (67) and Nick Jones (42) putting on a fourth-wicket century stand.
Alvechurch end the season at Himley on Saturday (12.30pm start).
