ANDY Robinson has described his next fight as a ‘quarter-final’ as he targets a British Masters title shot by the end of the year.
The 28-year-old from Redditch faces an unnamed opponent on Friday, September 13 at The Institute in Birmingham.
The super-middleweight, pictured left, is targeting his eighth professional win as he finally makes the step-up to six rounds on the card of the It’s-A-Bout-Boxing’s first show of the new season.
He said: “I am spending every single moment training for this fight.
“I’m working on all the styles, so it doesn’t matter who I come up against.
“I’m not one of those fighters who worries too much about their opponent, I want to focus on myself.
“But this is an important fight for me, if I win it then I am another step closer to a British Masters title fight.”
Rising middleweight star, Ryan Aston, has been added to the show, which sees Birmingham’s Chris Truman take on Wales’ Lee Quinn for a British Masters Welterweight Title.
Prospects Gym stable-mates, Warren ‘Big Rig’ Sinden, Worcester light-welterweight Michael ‘Mad Man’ Mooney and Ainsley Seivwright are in action.
Former British welterweight champion Young Mutley is also back in action alongside Coventry’s unbeaten heavyweight Mike O’Hagan.
Super flyweight prospect Samson ‘Slick’ Sykes and youngster Mikey Boyles complete the card. ‘Friday 13th’.
Robinson is also looking forward to fighting at The Institute after his points victory at The Paragon Hotel in June, over Angolan-born Gilson de Jesus.
He added: “It’s going to be a sell out and there’s a free after party with people like DJ Ironic providing the entertainment.
“The Paragon wasn’t the best, it was so warm in there.”
