Bees are buzzing after big cup win

SUPER Studley stormed into the next stage of the FA Cup after sweeping Stafford Town aside in their extra preliminary round clash by a convincing 5-0 margin.
Delighted Studley manager Paul Smith said: “It could have been more.
“We should have won by six or seven goals, but it doesn’t matter. It’s the FA Cup and I’d have taken a 1-0 result providing we got through.
“To be honest, I expected a much tougher game as Stafford have made a good start to the season, beating Littleton 4-1 and then drawing with Atherstone.
“But in truth, we were much too strong for them.
“We were 4-0 up two minutes into the second half and although we didn’t mean to, we took our foot off the gas a bit.”
Central defender Richard Lambert opened the scoring when heading home from a corner.
Will Parker then thumped home on the half hour to make it 2-0 before Andy Nicol supplied a third just five minutes later.
The result was put beyond doubt on 47 minutes when Lambert headed a corner down for Nicol to net.
The fifth goal finally followed when former Redditch United team mates Jack Cresswell and Connor Deards combined for the latter to slot home.
Studley’s reward will be a preliminary round trip to either Atherstone or Rocester.
This Saturday Studley return to St Mary’s Midland Combination Premier action when they entertain Pershore Town (3pm ko) before travelling to Pilkington XXX on Bank Holiday Monday.
