Robinson gets win number five

SUPER middleweight Andrew Robinson maintained his perfect record by outpointing Lithuania’s Kirill Psonko.

The 28-year-old Redditch fighter was not at his best but still had more than enough for Psonko over four rounds at Wolverhampton Civic Hall last night.

Robinson had lived up to his "Animal" nickname when he dispatched John Mason inside a round last time out in January, though a repeat performance never looked likely against wily Psonko who impressed judge Rob Chalmers enough to take a share of a round.

The Lithuanian asked questions of Robinson during the second round, landing cleanly on at least a couple of occasions.

But Robinson rallied in the third and a powerful left uppercut, the most eye-catching punch of the fight, briefly had Psonko in trouble.

He survived but couldn’t do enough in the fourth to prevent the home fighter taking a 40-37 win.
