FORMER Alcester schoolboy Andrew Pozzi suffered more inury frustration as he was forced to pull out of the Great Britain squad competing at the European Indoor Athletics Championships.

A hamstring injury which has hampered the former Alcester High School and St Benedict’s student meant he was unable to compete for a medal in the 110 metres hurdles in Gothenburg.

“I had to pull out of trials as a precaution and unfortunately my hamstring still wasn’t right for me to be able race on,” said Pozzi.

“I’m bitterly disappointed to be missing the European Indoor Championships but now my focus is ensuring that I’m healthy and ready to go when this outdoor season starts.”

However, with the World Championships in Moscow later in the year, Pozzi is hoping this injury does not hamper his out door season.
