Knight eyes changes to campaign

STUDLEY boss Lee Knight believes Midland Alliance officials may have to look at a major overhaul of fixtures as the wet weather forced Saturday’s game at Causeway United off.

The Bees haven’t played in the league since January 12 and more snow and rain threaten extra fixture disruption.

The playing surface at Abbeyfield Drive already needs time to recover, with Knight not seeing any home games on it for the ‘forseeable future.’ The club have also switched their Worcestershire Senior Urn match to Lye Town’s ground on Tuesday, February 19 in a bid to making sure it goes ahead.

Knight said: “I think you’ve got to accept that the seasons seem to have changed, even last year the winter was bad, and that something might need to be done.

“I cannot see us playing at home for the forseeable future either.”

Meanwhile, Studley have opted against reporting Black Country Rangers to the Birmingham County FA regarding an alleged illegal approach for Matty Collins for the time being.

The club have sent an email to Rangers asking for clarification over the matter.

However, Knight has warned if there is not an adequate reply, they will report them to Birmingham FA.

Studley, whose home game against Westfields was called off last night, are set to entertain Loughborough University on Saturday (3pm ko).
