GIFTED Greelands BMX starlet Libby Smith heads up a strong collection of Redditch sports people at the Hereford and Worcester County Awards.
The town has a bumper crop nominated for a host of awards, which will be revealed at a special awards ceremony on Wednesday, November 14, at Worcester Warriors Rugby Club.
Smith, 11, is vying for the junior female sports person category.
Meanwhile, Redditch Fencing Club’s Anita Mason is a contender for the young volunteer of the year.
The slip stream racing outfit from Redditch Road and Path Club are in the junior team of the year section, while Paul Berry is up for the newcomer of the year accolade.
Partially-sighted cricket star Luke Sugg, 22, has been nominated for the county’s sports personality for 2012 after an impressive year, where he helped England beat Australia to lift the Julie Powers Memorial Trophy and Warwickshire to lift the BSA Cup.
