Lloyd impresses in Birmingham

MEMBERS of Bromsgrove and Redditch AC were in action at the Bupa Great Birmingham Run on Sunday and witnessed the record-breaking efforts of Kenyan superstar Micah Logo.

Logo smashed the 13.1 mile course record through the city in a time of one hour and 17 seconds, beating legend Haile Gebrselassie’s previous time.

Adam Lloyd was the first B&RAC athlete home in one hour 16 minutes to finish 38th.

Sally Bevans (1.33), Wondu Beyene (1.29), Gemma Cone (1.34), Clive Dent (1.24), Debbie Fowler (1.38), David Gemmell (1.18), Darren Hale (1.22), Benjamin Haresign (1.51), Huw Jenkins (1.29), Sam Lake (1.45), Lewis Millington (1.52), Robert Mole (1.25), John Searle (1.36) and Tracy Smith (1.57) also took part and set impressive times.

Meanwhile, a trio from the club tackled the Jungfrau Marathon in Switzerland.

The gruelling event is one of the most eye-catching in the world going through the Swiss Alps providing superb views of the Jungfrau, Monch and Eiger peaks.

Judy Appleby completed the race in 5.23, followed by Steve James (5.47) and and Len Quartly (6.31).
