HOCKEY: Redditch Ladies 6 Worcester Seconds 0

AFTER last week's dramatic 6-5 defeat against Tamworth, Redditch bounced back against a depleted Worcester.

Two goals in the first 15 minutes settled nerves. Lindsay Morris opened her account in the league last weekend and was again on the scoresheet as she picked up a rebound off the keeper and finished smartly from close range after an Angela Taylor flick.

Player of the match Becky Southwell made it 2-0.

Anna Stafford, playing her final match of this campaign before moving abroad, once again showed her class coming forward.

The hosts wanted to ensure victory and improve their goal difference in the second half and got the perfect start. An excellent reverse flick by Emma Allsop set them on their way to make it 3-0.

With Taylor and Jo Stafford in control in midfield, Sharon Smith scored for the second week in a row to make it 4-0.

Allsop scored her second with a good shot from the edge of the circle, 5-0 and the home side finished with a flourish as the sixth goal was a fast-flowing break the length of the pitch. Allsop put in an early hard cross from the right, which was dispatched with ease by Southwell.
