I CANNOT be alone in feeling dismayed and disappointed that Sunday’s Remembrance Service at Alcester was held, due to inclement weather, inside St Nicholas Church rather than outside at the War Memorial.

Whoever made this late decision no doubt felt they were acting in the general interest, but in doing so alienated the vast majority of the general public.

Those of us not in the parade were excluded from the service and had to remain outside with little notion of what was happening since the service itself was inaudible.

Surely we could have all been cold and wet together?
