LEADING on from the recent article about the proposed revamp of the Alex’s reception – I had the experience a few evenings ago of this draughty, dull area, and it very much needs updating. However, am I alone in thinking that major rebuilding/refurbishment of the fabric of the hospital building should not be funded by the League of Friends and its army of volunteers?

Surely, this expense should be the responsibility of the Trust.

I am not a member of the League, but have willingly contributed to various fundraising events in the past. The equipment purchased and even the special garden for patients have been inspirational – but building work?
