Our Tory spokesman must air views on expenses row

AFTER the horrendous – yet surprisingly legal – abuse of the expenses system at the house of commons by our Jacqui, I am seriously considering becoming a Tory.

Not a fully fledged one mind, I’m not going to dig a moat round my semi and swap the decking for a duck island, not unless I can get the taxpayer to fund it.

I do however have a couple of “issues”, before switching my allegiance, the first may be considered minor but it really irritates me: why is Karen Lumley, our prospective replacement for Jacqui Smith, calling herself a spokesMAN,when clearly she is a spokesWOMAN?

Is she in fact Kevin Lumley, and only calls herself Karen at weekends?

I would still vote for a transvestite, in fact I would vote for Howard Bellaby and Mitzy the cat if they promised to lower my council tax and empty my bin once a week.

The second is more serious and concerns Bromsgrove MP Julie Kirkbride and her and husband’s abuse of taxpayers’ money, which in my opinion is as bad if not worse than anything the Redditch MP has got up to.

Yet the Bromsgrove Tory party continues to support her, according to what I read on the Bromsgrove Advertiser’s e-edition, which I urge all to read as it shows how inept local Tories can be, she even has the brass neck to pledge to go out campaigning for the Euro elections, even after one disgruntled Bromsgrove voter has shown his displeasure by chucking a brick at the window of Bromsgrove’s Conservative office.

I wondered why Karen Lumley’s silence regarding Jacqui Smith’s antics was so deafening?

She needs to give us her views on Jacqui Smith and her friend Julie Kirkbride ASAP if she is to have any hope of convincing the people of Redditch she is not of the same ilk.
