Flying Horse Lane, Bradley Green – probably the worst maintained road in the county?

This letter of complaint is addressed to whoever is the person is at Worcestershire County Council that has passed the recent road repair work on Flying Horse Lane, Bradley Green as being acceptable to any sort of standard.

The road in question was subjected to a widening programme a couple of years ago.

When I say widening programme, the approach was to have three hot tar spraying vehicles working for over a week covering the verges on either side of the road with hot tar and applying chipping.

I suspect that the reason this work was done was due to the increase in large farm vehicles using the road that had not only broken up the surface on the edges but had also driven on the grass verges, gouging deep grooves adjacent to the road.

However, not surprisingly, in a short amount of time, the tar had lifted and the surface was extremely badly ribbed and had left the road with, literally, a thin usable band down the centre. Woe betide you if two vehicles had to pass, it truly was in a terrible and shameful state and is even worse now.

However, on Saturday, April 25 I see that “repair” has started once again and unbelievably they are now attempting to “repair” small sections of what is already probably the worst maintained road in the county. When I say repairing, of course I mean more hot tar spray and more chipping again!

Needless to say the road is now in a hell of a lot worse state (if that’s possible?) with copious amount of chipping still remaining.

It is a disgrace and furthermore it is an utter and complete waste of tax payers’ money Maybe a local MP would care to pick this one up and challenge the Worcestershire County Council?
