AS SOMEONE who cares passionately about animal protection, I was delighted to read that Redditch is to have a Green Party candidate at the General Election (“Deposits cash for Greens in web hunt”, Advertiser, February 4) and I hope they manage to raise the funds to stand candidates throughout Worcestershire.
I have studied all the parties’ policies in relation to animals and have found that the Greens are streets ahead of all the others in their concern for our fellow creatures.
The Green Party would end the badger cull, ban all animal experiments, abolish the fur trade, end the use of all animals in circuses, strengthen the law against hunting, abolish shooting and snaring, ban live exports and end factory farming.
In addition, the Greens’ strong policies on the environment would help wild animals by protecting and conserving their habitats.
That’s why the Greens will get my vote in May and, I’m quite sure, the votes of many other caring and compassionate people too.
