I must say I am dismayed at the actions of Redditch Council blocking roads to stop Mr Wilson setting up his funfair in the town. What a miserable lot they are. We used to be able to enjoy ourselves in Redditch.
When I came here from Birmingham in the 1970s, it was a great place to be. We had a carnival, we had the water fiesta, the fair was always in the town for the carnival and also at Christmas. I can remember Mr Wilson’s roundabout in the Kingfisher at Christmas raising money for charity.
I believe Mr Wilson’s family have been here for over 100 years and are among some of the original Redditch families and have contributed much towards local charities during this time.
To treat them in this way is awful when you consider what they have done for the community over the many years.
