I WRITE to support Councillors Mallett and Bloore’s push for a feasibility study into a western bypass for Bromsgrove.
Our town’s infrastructure is already under pressure and this will only increase as thousands of proposed new houses are built. The western bypass is key to ensure Bromsgrove doesn’t face gridlock.
The actions of the Conservatives at Worcestershire County Council in blocking Cllr Bloore and Mallett’s proposal show how petty point scoring and short-sightedness is preventing Bromsgrove from moving forward. It’s good to see that at district level, sense has prevailed the feasibility study now has crossparty support.
It’s now time for Sajid Javid MP to step up to the plate and use his influence to benefit our town. Does he think Bromsgrove’s Tory council’s housing plans can be delivered without significant new infrastructure?
