IT was good to see your headline saying that two councillors had been cleared of misconduct.
To many readers the cost of the external investigator would appear small,at £1500. However, no mention was made of the time, and therefore money, that the council officers had spent in examining the case before calling in outside help to settle the problem.
Could we look forward to a time when “politicking” stops and our councillors can settle things with a reasonable attitude and come to a sensible agreement without the need to waste time and money which should not be theirs to use in this way.
We would respect their decisions on more serious matters so much more and who knows – more people might vote in both local and national elections to give us a more democratic representation.
