Pool approval for Malvern farm

A SWIMMING pool and gymnasium can be built on the site of a former stable block next to a farmhouse in a hamlet near Malvern.

Malvern Hills District Council northern area development control committee approved the scheme for the development at Clevelode Farm, Clevelode, near Guarlford, despite several objections from neighbours.

At the beginning of last year a stable building was demolished and an application was approved for a pool, gym and plant room on the site of the stables.

The current application shows the plant room has been moved 10m further away from the neighbour's property and a gap has been left between the pool building and the neighbouring Barley House.

The proposal was recommended for approval by planning officers who said the amended plans show the proposed building would be subordinate to the farmhouse and in keeping with the established form of the farm complex.
