Redditch Older People's Forum
On Thursday June 9, members met to celebrate the Queens 90th Birthday. Everyone had been busy making food for the party and very tasty spread was laid. The room was decorated with bunting and Union Jacks.
Tony Breeden a local entertainer came along to play old music hall songs which we all sang to and also told us about the history of the music hall entertainers who were well known performers of that era, When we were hungry and thirsty we all had a well earned break including Tony joining us to partake of the buffet lunch. Afterwards we sang some songs and later the raffle was drawn. Members came sporting well decorated hats in red, white and blue. The deputy Mayor judged the competition for the best hat. Maggie Priddle won the Ladies section and Trevor Swann was winner of the Men's. We left at 12'o clock after an enjoyable morning celebrating the Queens Birthday.
Redditch Older Peoples forum Meet at the Ecumenical Centre on the second Thursday of the month at 10am. Anyone 55 and over is welcome is welcome to join us.
