Kingfisher English Country Dance Club
The Kingfisher English Country Dance Club, instigated by Arts in Redditch (AIR) last October, is growing from strength to strength with more up to 40 regular attendees. We will soon need to move into the main hall at Oakenshaw Community Centre as we are outgrowing the smaller one.
In recent weeks we have had guest callers, from Great Alne and Rubery, and live music is now a regular feature thanks to Glen, an excellent mandolin, fiddle and guitar player, who has recently acquired a nyckelharpa, so we are hoping this very unusual Swedish instrument will be making an appearance and providing some interesting music.
New members are always welcome at the club, whether beginners or more experienced, and you do not need to bring a partner. Admission is just £3 or £2 for concessions and it starts at 7.30 on alternate Fridays at the Oakenshaw Community Centre. The next one is November 29.
