Beoley WI
Beoley Village Hall was decked with colourful bunting for the March meeting and birthday tea. The birthday cake, made by Isobel Dilley, was exquisitely decorated by Nicky Shaw as a tea table. The cake was cut by Lynne Clarke and Steph Whiles. Appropriately for St David's Day, there were daffodils on the tables. Georgia Jacobs gave a powerpoint show of 200 slides of members taken over the last five years.
After a delicious tea of sandwiches and cakes on three-tier stands prepared by the committee, there were music hall songs and humour from the excellent Dentith and Price. Members put their names down for a stained glass window workshop, and there was a collection for the CPR fibrillator to be situated at Beoley School. The competition for a garter was won by Jean Chesterton.
The next meeting will be on April 5 at 7.30pm at Beoley Village Hall. Nick Houghton of Where Next will show us how to make flowering baskets, and the competition will be for a pot plant.
New members are welcome.
