PRESIDENT Carol Kinsey welcomed members to the annual and resolutions meeting. Special welcome to Christine Hickman Smith, WI adviser. Jerusalem was sung and apologies were recorded, minutes were read and approved.

The president reminded members of forthcoming events. May 20, Make, Bake and Grow discussion. June 4 Palace Theatre 100 years celebration link up with the Albert Hall, 10-10.30am start.

President and secretary gave their annual reports on all the activities and events for the past year. Treasurer gave the financial statement and said that the institute had done well this year.

Christine thanked the committee for the hard work in organising Ipsley as a successful enterprise. Christine presided over the voting for president and committee with Carol Kinsey being voted in as president again with committee remaining the same with Joy Gammon joining as a new committee member.

Christine talked us through this year’s resolution which is to remove the distinction between nursing care and personal care in the assessment of the needs of individuals in order to advance health and wellbeing.

After much discussion Ipsley decided to give discretion of voting to our delegate at the Albert Hall. Later the raffle was drawn and the winner of Flower of the Month was Rose Dalgarno. Competition for five cakes on a plate was won by Carol Kinsey.

Gill Hancock gave the vote of thanks to Christine, Carol closed the meeting at 10pm.

Ipsley WI meet at Winyates Green Community Centre on the second Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm.
