President, Carol Kinsey opened the meeting and welcomed everyone.

As this was a members’ evening the minutes of the previous meeting were taken as read which saved a little time.

Carol handed over the proceedings to Judith Scott who was acting as president of the ADHOC Committee for the evening.

Jackie Gregory, acting secretary read minutes from 2014 members evening. Apologies were recorded.

The speaker was Joy Gammon who had brought with her some beautiful samples of creative work done by Worcestershire WI members over the past decades.

Joy demonstrates these items at WI meetings and other gatherings and says she feels privileged to be able to handle them, some with white gloves, all are wrapped on acid free tissue paper.

The work involved was incredible, ranging from pictures made from machine embroidery to tatting, boxes that opened up to reveal sewing kits inside and many more treasures. We enjoyed looking at this collection, appreciating the craftsmanship of so many gifted ladies.

Joy was thanked for showing us these lovely items of craft.

She was welcomed into Ipsley as a new member on the same evening.

Members later tucked into some delicious cakes with their tea and coffee which were made by the AD-HOC and committee.

The raffle was drawn, prizes having an Easter theme. Flower of the Month was won by Judith Scott. Winner of the competition for three or more words from ‘The Craft Collection’ was Carol Kinsey with over 500 words.

Judith thanked the team for their help and the lovely cakes.

Thanks to Carol for donating the raffle prizes. President thanked the AD-HOC for organising the evening.
