The society held its final programme for the 2014/2015 Season at the Trinity High School, Grove Street, Redditch.

An excellent talk was given by Roger Cragg, BSc, MSc, CEng, NICE, MIHT, on the Manchester Ship Canal, from its inception in the 1700s to its current role. The construction of the superb bridges and numerous locks allowing ocean-going ships in past centuries to conduct their maritime business was given in great detail by Mr.

Cragg.

The Redditch Society for the Promotion of Science Art and Literature will recommence the 2015/2016 Season at the Trinity High School , Grove Street Redditch in September when a varied programme to include ‘The Battle of Trafalgar 21 October 1805’, ‘Croome Court and its History’, ‘ Landscape of the Midlands from the Ice Age to the Present Day’, ‘Hidcote Gardens’ and many topics which should appeal to most people of the area.

This year is the 70th Anniversary of the formation of the society and a celebratory buffet is being held at the Archer’s Restaurant, being part of the Redditch College.
