VISITORS to Forge Mill can enjoy a “Summer of Lego” over the next two months with a number of different activities and events.

The museum will be hosting a Brick Built exhibition by Warren Elsmore and thanks to grant funding from the Big Lottery Fund has been able to put together a programme of free or subsidised activities, workshops and events.

The museum is also hosting some Tiny Engineers workshops providing construction fun with local company, Create Build Learn.

These workshops will be around the themes of On the Farm and Under the Sea and will take place on June 22 and July 6.

There is a limited amount of space for each workshop so visitors are required to book in advance.

The site’s annual Teddy Bear’s Picnic is on June 29 and this year will take on a World of Bricks theme.

This is always a very popular event so requires booking in advance.

Debbie Lakeman, education officer at Forge Mill, said: “We were thrilled to receive the grant from the Big Lottery Fund and can’t wait to bring these fun summer activities to our visitors.

"The exhibition is very exciting and perfect for inspiring youngsters to get creative and get building. Why not pop along and see what’s on offer throughout the summer.”

Summer of Lego will run until September 2.
