STOURPORT charities have been given a welcome boost thanks to the fundraising efforts of Rotary members.
Stourport Rotary Club held its annual presentation evening at The Hallmark Stourport Manor Hotel on February 5 featuring guests including the town Mayor Councillor Vi Higgs and her consort Andy Higgs.
Other guests included Carol Pratt from Acorns Children’s Hospice, Stourport Choral Society chairman Phil Smith and David Rees, president of Bewdley Rotary.
Members presented Stourport Scouts and Guide Band, Stourport Sea Scouts, Jubilee Swimming Club and Zennor’s Dance Academy with a share of money collected through The Christmas Sleigh Run organised by Rotary.
A further donation of £475.50 was made to Carol Pratt which was raised from a concert featuring Stourport Choral Society, held at Areley Kings Village Hall on February 3.
Stourport Rotary Club president Cliff Brewer added special thanks and gifts were presented to Pete Roberts for organising the event while a bouquet of flowers was given to member Jean McCauley in recognition for her contribution to the event over the years.
