ELDERLY residents got their groove on at a charity's summer tea party held at Beoley Village Hall.

Redditch-based charity Contact The Elderly held the party on June 17 for around 30 people who live alone.

Bromsgrove and Redditch Rock Choir ensured the party was in full swing, serenading residents with songs from the 1960s to the present day.

Rock Choir leader Christa Hugo said: “We loved singing for the tea party guests.

“It was so special to see them enjoying the music, and we were thrilled when several ladies got up to dance.

"Contact The Elderly provides such an important service in fighting loneliness amongst our older community and we were moved to see what an impact our music had on the guests that afternoon”.

Charity volunteer Linzi Hill added: “Rock Choir put on a brilliant performance. I’ve had lots of lovely feedback from everyone. They were a real hit with our guests.”

Contact The Elderly organises monthly Sunday afternoon tea parties for older people aged 75 and over who live alone, offering a regular and vital friendship link every month.
