AN innovative take on Shakespeare's greatest love story Romeo and Juliet will be performed on the lawns of Avoncroft Museum this summer.
Oddsocks Productions is returning to Bromsgrove on Sunday, July 8, with its new play, set on Brighton seafront amidst the conflict of the mods and rockers.
Audiences can expect nothing short of chaos and comedy as the actors turn the Shakespeare classic on its head to a swinging soundtrack.
The outdoor performance will be held in the museum grounds at 6.30pm, as part of Bromsgrove Festival.
Oddsocks' artistic director Andy Barrow described the play as 'seriously silly Shakespeare', adding: "Oddsocks is a theatrical experience for everyone.
"As actors, we’re putting on a party and everyone is invited. It’s theatre that’s highly energetic, full of life and plenty of laughs.
"It’s Shakespeare, but not as you know it."
Avoncroft will open its gates from 5.30pm and audiences are invited to arrive early, bring a picnic and a chair.
Tickets for Romeo and Juliet cost £16 for adults, £9 for children, £13 for concessions and £37 for families.
