A NEW £3m teaching block at Kinver High School was recently opened by MP Gavin Williamson CBE.

The block will house the school's mathematics, English and modern foreign languages departments.

The project formed the first phase of the school's Condition Improvement Fund Bid, which also saw the relocation of its reception area.

Mr Williamson praised the hard work everyone had put into achieving this magnificent new building for Kinver.

Headteacher Mr Chris Rogers, said: "I am delighted that Kinver High has this brand new teaching facility.

"It has taken a long time from initial planning to reach this day, but I am delighted with the outcome.

“We are awaiting planning permission for a new sports facility, which forms Phase II of our Condition Improvement Fund bid.

"This new facility will not only benefit our students but the wider Kinver community.

"This is an incredibly exciting phase for our school and Kinver."
