DUDLEY Library will host a free two-hour session to educate people about cancer.

A nurse from Cancer Research UK will discuss cancer prevention and provide information about screening during the event, which will run on Monday (January 29), from 2pm to 4pm.

People will also be able to don a virtual reality headset for a tour of a cancer laboratory.

The event will also launch Dudley Council's partnership with libraries mutual GLL's Better brand, which took over the running of the borough's three libraries and four library links in December last year, along with the Dudley Archives and Local History Service.

It will also mark Better’s corporate fundraising arrangement with Cancer Research UK.

Diana Edmonds, head of libraries for Better, said: “We are very excited to bring the benefits of our Better brand to libraries in Dudley.

"One of the things we want to do is make libraries more welcoming and more useful for those who use them.

“Putting on talks like this one, can help us reach customers with information and services which can help improve their lives.

“We are delighted to work with Dudley Council and Cancer Research UK in this innovative way.”
