THOUSANDS of people descended on the Little Intall Fields at the weekend to mark the 30th Stoke Prior Steam Rally.

This year’s rally was the biggest to date, with vehicle enthusiasts from across the country gathering to enjoy parades and exhibitions of vintage and classic cars, engines and bikes.

There were also living history displays, war-time films to mark 100 years since the end of the First World War, and fun family shows from Simon Bishop’s Ferretworld, Andrew Charlton's Berkley Owls Display and The Fun Dog Show.

A spokesman for the rally said: “This weekend was the biggest ever - we had a great turnout with thousands of visitors on both days.

“We did a two-minute silence for the anniversary of the end of the war and the support we had was amazing.

“We also received a certificate from the Royal National Lifeboat Institute for all of the fundraising we’ve done for them over the last 30 years, which was a nice surprise.

“The rally has grown into a major event and we’ve already started planning for next year.”

Stoke Prior Steam Rally started 30 years ago at the Ewe and Lamb pub, before moving to Hanbury and Redditch and then back to Stoke Prior in 2004.
