A MAN accused of attempted wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of a blade has yet to enter pleas.

Adam Snell of Bransford Road, St John's, Worcester, appeared at Worcester Crown Court yesterday (Monday) via videolink. The 34-year-old was charged following an incident in Broad Street, Worcester, just before 11am on Thursday, June 14. Nobody was injured.

Martin Butterworth, defending, said it was clear his client was not receiving appropriate medication and there was a fitness to plead issue in the case.

Judge Robert Juckes QC said, while he was aware there may be a psychiatric issue, he had not been made aware of a fitness to plead issue. The judge adjourned for a psychiatric report to be prepared. The next hearing was put down for August 27.

In the meantime he remanded Snell in custody.
