A KIDDERMINSTER beer festival that celebrated the role of women in the trade raised more than £250 for charity.
Wyre Forest CAMRA’s Beer and Cider Festival, held at the Town Hall, shone the spotlight on Brewsters – female brewers – in recognition of the fact 2018 marks the centenary of Women’s Suffrage.
Of the 48 beers featured, 30 were from women brewers from across the country.
Organisers also reinforced their choice of theme by nominating West Mercia Women’s Aid, as the festival’s chosen charity.
And, as a result, they raised £278 for the charity through visitors generously donating unused beer tokens as well as buying pump clips and other souvenirs.
