EVEN in this internet age, many great stories are still on paper; but artist Sher Christopher goes one further, and makes her tales and characters from paper, in the form of sculpture.

And for inspiration she often takes a leaf from one of the greatest storytellers of all time: William Shakespeare.

Today (Saturday March 17) for one day only, Worcester people have a rare opportunity to see Sher at work, in the studio at Papersky Limited, at Reindeer Court.

A spokesman said: “Sher Christopher will be here at the studio this Saturday, answering questions and talking about her work.

“Sher’s sketchbooks will be also accessible to view and the sculptures will be available for purchase.”

The spokesman added: “We are so excited to be holding a very special event at Papersky Studio today.

“Curious Paper Stories is an insight into the imagination of Sher Christopher. The collection of exceptional, beautifully carved paper sculpture, includes: Magical Faeries, The Petal Picker and The Bookmaker as well as Shakespearian tales and historical characters.

“Why not come down and have a look at this wonderful display?”

Sher Christopher is a figurative sculptor who creates unique three-dimensional sculpture purely in paper.

The inspiration for Sher’s work comes, in particular, from her fascination for Shakespeare’s plays, art and books.

She has a Diploma in Foundation Studies from Bournemouth and Poole College of Art and Design and a

BA (Hons) in Three Dimensional Design, from the University of Wolverhampton.

Sher had also had a number of high profile exhibitions, including the Agora Gallery in New York, The Bridport Arts Centre in Dorset and The Eclipse Gallery, in Wisconsin.

Her latest exhibition, Curious Paper Stories, will run at Papersky Limited in Worcester until Thursday, March 22, but Sher will only be at work there today (Saturday).
