A DRUGS conspiracy trial continues as the prosecution make the case cocaine was taken in bulk to Worcester from Liverpool.

A jury at Worcester Crown Court was yesterday shown covert police surveillance footage of Liam Pearson arriving at Selborne Road West, Barbourne. The prosecution case is that Pearson was a courier who dropped off a consignment of cocaine at the home of Lee Bryant, one of his co-conspirators, on June 23, 2015.

Retired police sergeant Neal Hackett pulled Pearson over on his way north again in his Ford Galaxy, stopping him northbound on the M6 between junctions 19 and 20 later that same day.

Inside the boot was found £29,995 in cash within a Wychavon District Council bin bag which was in turn inside a pillow case. The fingerprints of Todd Porter were found on the bag.

Later that day Porter was filmed letting himself into his step-father's (Bryant's) Selborne Road West address and emerging with an orange bag the size of a house brick.

Automatic number plate recognition cameras show Pearson made previous journeys from Liverpool to Worcester on March 18 and April 23, 2015. Pearson's TomTom Sat Nav had Worcester addresses programmed into it, including Bilford Road, Salters Close, Bowness Drive, Grasmere Drive and Barbourne Road.

Witness DC Dean Mowbray made reference to a ledger seized from 118 Bromyard Road in St John's, Worcester which he said was a record of drugs bought and sold. The ledger contains repeated references to 1,800 which DC Mowbray said was the value in pounds of one ounce of cocaine, 900 denoting half an ounce.

John Butterfield QC, prosecuting, said names in the ledger suggested links to some of the defendants.
