A COVERS band specialising in the music of Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin are preparing for their first hometown gig at Bromsgrove’s Artrix in October.

Formed two years ago out of a mutual love for the rock icons, Led Hendrix have perfected their authentic studio sound using period vintage instruments and sound equipment.

The group have toured across the UK but have never performed in Bromsgrove, meaning their Artrix gig will be a memorable one for the band's locals Stuart Peplow and Mirron Webb.

Stuart said: “We all knew each other from different bands and started talking and were disappointed with the sound of a lot of Hendrix and Led Zeppelin cover bands.

“We thought it would be good to get a band together to replicate the sound rather than just the image.

“This is the first time we have performed in Bromsgrove so it will be a bit of a hometown gig and we are looking forward to it.

“We mix the sets up so fans of either artist don't have to wait to hear their favourite tracks and can enjoy a good variety.

“All the old favourites are in the set such as Voodoo Chile, Purple Haze, Black Dog and Stairway to Heaven, but we also add some of the more unusual tracks.

“Anyone coming to see Led Hendrix will have a super audio and visual experience.”

The band, who are made up of guitarist Stuart, bassist Mirron, drummer Jody Page, and vocalist David Seeley, will play a two-hour set on October 14 from 8pm with tickets available from artrix.co.uk/whats-on/music/led-hendrix.

They also perform at Redditch’s Oasthouse on Papermill Drive on Friday, September 29.
