THE fire brigade and staff from Alvechurch Marina worked together to rescue a cow which had got into the Worcester-Birmingham Canal on Monday morning.
The call to the fire brigade came at about 11am and crew from Redditch and Droitwich used an inflatable boat and a general purpose line to rescue the animal, which a canal narrowboat also involved.
At 3.14pm the same afternoon, the fire brigade was called to the River Severn at Uckinghall, near Upton on another cow rescue.
Crews from Pershore, Upton and Worcester rescued the cow using a boat and lines.
