Polish up your golf clubs and get ready to tee off at a popular annual event in aid of St Richard’s Hospice.

This year’s St Richard’s Hospice Golf Day is set to take place at Droitwich Golf Club on Wednesday, September 6t.

More than 20 teams took part in the event last year, raising £7,000 to help St Richard’s provide care to patients with life-limiting illnesses, their families and bereaved people in Worcestershire.

Ria Simons, fundraiser at St Richard’s Hospice, said: “The Golf Day is always really fun – everyone gets together to enjoy a round of golf and there is a great atmosphere with plenty of healthy competition too.

“Funds raised by the event will go towards helping the hospice provide its support to patients across Worcestershire, so why not get involved and help raise money for our care while having fun?”

The fun-filled event is being sponsored by Hallmark Hulme Solicitors, which is based in Worcester.

Julian Powell, business director at Hallmark Hulme, said: “We are delighted to continue our long association with St Richard’s Hospice and the annual autumn Golf Day – Hallmark Hulme has been on a journey with both since their beginnings.

“We are proud to support the Golf Day – it’s always such an amiable and entertaining event for friends and acquaintances.”

Entry for a team of four costs £300 and includes a bacon roll and hot drinks on arrival. Then, in the evening, there will be an informal, two-course, sit down meal along with an awards presentation for the first three teams, nearest the pin and the longest drive. There will also be a raffle and auction.

The competition takes place on the 18-hole course with tee off times between noon and 2pm. For further information or to register a team contact Isobel Mathews on 01905 763963 or email imathews@strichards.org.uk
