MORE than 50 scouts from across the county came together for a special award ceremony in Warndon.

On Sunday, July 16, Hereford and Worcester County Scouts held the event, hosted by Worcester Bosch, in Cotswold Way.

The youngsters officially celebrated achieving their Chief Scouts and Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) awards and were presented with trophies, badges and certificates to celebrate their success.

The Scouts were joined by network members, Explorer Scouts, and the UK Commissioner for Scouting Tim Kid, who came together to celebrate with afternoon tea.

Robert Sidley, Scout Association county commissioner for Hereford and Worcester, said: "This was a truly inspiring event seeing how hard these young people have worked in their community, had many adventures and learnt skills for life. "Whilst 50 attended the celebration there are many more young people out there who also have achieved though couldn’t make it - I say well done to them too."

Hereford and Worcester Scout Association are currently seeking a deputy county commissioner. Anyone interested in applying can email cc@hwscouts.org.uk for further details.
