A NEW design has been submitted for a proposed home in one of the more historic streets in Hereford.

A contemporary design for a two-bedroom home with a flat roof was submitted last October to replace an existing garage in Cantilupe Street, opposite Castle Pool.

But the application was withdrawn in April and a revised plan has been submitted.

The plans said: "The scale of the proposal has been reduced, with a pitched roof now introduced in place of the flat roof design, and a split level plan configuration utilised in order to minimise physical mass of the dwelling."

The proposed dwelling is to be set back from the highway by six metres, in line with highways consultation.

This means two vehicles can part away from the highway and there will also be a garage incorporated at the front of the building within the ground floor plan, meaning three spaces will be available.

The plans said: "By integrating a single garage parking space, along with a dedicated permeable paved parking area, it has been possible to create three parking spaces which can safely and securely accommodate cars off the road."

The plans also suggest a split level design and a sunken kitchen, which will accommodate the living space needed within a more compact envelope.
