A CYCLIST was hurt after coming off her bike on a busy Worcester road this morning (Friday).

The woman in her 60s was found lying in the road near the Coach and Horses pub on Upper Tything.

Paramedics were initially told she had been knocked over by a car but police later said they believed she had fallen off.

She suffered knee and hip pain, a cut to her forehead and bruising to her face after the crash.

She was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital after the crash which happened at about 10.25am.

A spokesman from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "On arrival crews were told the woman had been involved in a collision with a car.

"She was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

"No one else was injured."

However, a spokesman from West Mercia Police said: "It appears a female was lying in the road who had come off her pushbike.

"Officers don't believe there was any vehicle involved."
