ALL kinds of ways of healthy living were on show at Rosebank Gardens in Malvern on Saturday.

The Health and Wellbeing Festival was organised by Malvern Town Council, and events officer Dilys Watson said she was delighted with the way it had turned out.

She said: “It’s gone really well. This is the first one that I’ve organised, and I’m just so happy that it’s gone so well.”

Visitors to the event held in a marquee in the gardens, were able to try out therapeutic techniques ranging form acupressure to reiki, exercise with the experts from Freedom Leisure, which runs the Splash, and try some tempting - but healthy - taste treats.

Lizzie Hughes was inviting people to try two of the vegetarian pates she makes at her Our Lizzie vegetarian cookery school in Malvern.

She said: “It’s nice to be here among so many local practitioners. It’s the second year I’ve been here.

“It was quite good last year, but it’s definitely an improvement to be in a marquee this year, as we had quite a bit of rain last year.”

Among the exhibitors taking part were Great Malvern Yoga, Malvern Hills Acupuncture, Cecily’s Beauty and NHS Healthy Minds.

And visitors also had the chance to try put everything from tai chi to zumba and shiatsu to meditation.

The Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven was also part of the event, recruiting for its work of supporting the unit which recently opened at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

Alan Neal said: “The Haven supports people with cancer at a very difficult time in their lives, and we are volunteers who support their work.
