HEREFORD Racecourse will host a unique type of event in July when the track is turned into an 'ultimate obstacle challenge' for the first time.

The Furlong Fury taking place on July 30, will see competitors and teams line-up to complete two laps of the racecourse (five kilometres) which will include over 20 obstacles.

Obstacles will include: high walls, cargo nets, a Ninja Wall, monkey bars, flying bars, a giant wave wall called the Tsunami, tyre carries, sand bag carriers, a mud bath, an ice bath and hurdles.

This will be a timed event with prizes for the fastest three men and women and largest team, although every finisher will receive a unique horseshoe medal.

The event is designed for both those who want to compete against others and others who want to complete the demanding course.

Entrants can chose to enter individually or as a team.

The event organised by Halo Leisure will raise money for charities including the event's main beneficiary Halo Sport Foundation which provides support for talented local athletes.

Individuals and teams can also support their own favourite cause via sponsorship.

Halo have 20 complimentary places to give away. If you’d like to nominate someone please email: enquiries@furlongfury.co.uk, telling them why the person you are nominating deserves a free place at this year’s event.
