PREPARATIONS for a second annual Kidderminster community event are well underway with live music acts announced for the show.

Brinton’s Bash will be held at Brinton’s Park on June 3 with a host of activities and entertainment taking place from 12noon to 10pm.

Organisers have confirmed the line-up of the music acts and have asked for anyone wishing to hold a stall or come on board as sponsors to get in touch.

The event, set up by Quads and Castles owner Dave Griffin and his co-organiser Ben Edmonds, came in last summer as a replacement for the now defunct Kidderminster Carnival.

More than 8,000 people turned out to enjoy the event, which also saw hundreds raised for chosen charity Wyre Forest Nightstop, which supports homeless young people.

Acts confirmed for the music stage are The Murmur and Sammy Jo, who both appeared last year, along with event debutants Rockwood, Just Charlotte and The Institutions.

Mr Griffin said: “It is great to have the bands and performers confirmed for this year’s event. Sammy Jo was on for half an hour last year but she will get a full hour this year while The Murmur are back by huge demand.

“I wanted to mix things up and have some new acts too so I am delighted with the line-up.”

Other new treats in store at the Bash include a tightrope walker, more rides on the funfair and an even bigger firework display to end the whole event.

There will also be a stunt show, dog display, talent search, martial arts and a variety of stalls promoting charities or people selling crafts and goods.

Mr Griffin added: “There will be a host of new things this year while the funfair and the firework display will be bigger than last year. It should be an amazing event.

“This is being made possible by sponsorship from a host of companies including Hire It Kidderminster, Hills Ford Kidderminster, Oakleaf Services, Hickman’s Transport, Adam Hewitt Ltd and of course Quads and Castles.

“We’d love to hear from others who can sponsor us and we also still have pitches available for anyone who wants to hold a stall – I’m hoping we can get a wide variety for all to enjoy.”
